my final conclusion regarding the question posed in the title—will AI replace art?
Having considered all these points, I can reaffirm my view: I do not believe that generative AI will replace art. People create because they feel a need to do so—to channel their emotions and experiences into something, and perhaps to share them with others in the hope of finding understanding. At most, generative AI can compete with human-made works; it can serve merely as an alternative of sorts. It is incapable of creating anything truly new, original, or unique; its entire body of knowledge is derived from the millions of human works on which it was trained. In my view, this is the fundamental distinction between humans and generative AI when it comes to creation: humans constantly create new works and concepts born of their sensitive nature and the need to cope with the challenges of everyday life.
I don’t think I need to elaborate any further on why I have this opinion, because I believe that after this overview of the topics everyone is able to form their own view on the matter. Feel free to share your own observations in the comments.
